Scott Arnold named CEO to lead next phase of growth
London – 11 September 2013 – AppSense, the leading provider of enterprise workspace management solutions, today announced it achieved record bookings in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2013, ended June 30th, 2013. Fourth quarter bookings grew 38 percent compared to the prior year. The company also set new records for revenue and license revenue. AppSense appointed Scott Arnold as President and CEO on May 1st to lead the next phase of the company’s growth.
“Scott’s unique experience scaling innovative public and private companies in enterprise software while building strong teams led the Board to choose him to lead AppSense’s next phase of growth,” said Charles Sharland, Founder and Chairman of the Board.
Enterprise customers continued to drive record growth for AppSense, as the company doubled new orders greater than $1 million in the fourth quarter versus the prior year. AppSense credits the growth to its market-leading DesktopNow solutions for customers seeking a strategic vendor to manage their physical, virtual, and now mobile computing environments.
“The fourth quarter results illustrate the strong foundation of customers, innovative technology, and entrepreneurial people at AppSense,” said Scott Arnold, President and CEO of AppSense. “I’m excited to lead our next phase of growth as we address the huge market opportunity associated with the evolving enterprise workspace.”
Successful Product Delivery and Expansion
AppSense’s fiscal 2013 year marked continued global growth as the company delivered new versions of its flagship DesktopNow product suite with ever increasing quality, stability and innovative features. AppSense currently counts more than 3,000 customers and 6 million endpoints giving the company the clear global leadership position in enterprises managing user policy, personalization, and privileges. AppSense works collaboratively with solutions from leading partners such as Citrix, VMware, and Microsoft, enabling enterprises to manage large, complex, and heterogeneous environments effectively.
During 2013, AppSense extended its product suite beyond physical and virtual desktop solutions to address critical emerging enterprise mobility needs of customers with its new MobileNow and DataNow offerings.
Following the successful integration of the RAPsphere acquisition, announced last year, AppSense launched MobileNow, its solution for on-demand Mobile Application Management (MAM). AppSense MobileNow secures devices, applications and data with unmatched BYOD freedom and productivity. MobileNow achieved multi-million dollar bookings in its first quarter on the market.
The company also released DataNow in June 2013- further extending the power of the AppSense workspace management suite with enterprise file, sync and share capabilities. DataNow offers enterprises consumer-style file access with the control and security IT needs while leveraging existing customer storage infrastructure.
“As enterprises contend with delivering secure and managed workspaces to users across physical, virtual, and mobile environments, we deliver market-leading solutions to manage their laptops and extend their reach to include mobile workspaces like tablets and smartphones,” continued Arnold. “We continue to invest aggressively in R&D to create the solutions our customers need and our fourth quarter performance is a sign of good things to come.”
Key Management Changes
In the fourth quarter, the company named software industry leader Scott Arnold as President and CEO. Prior to joining AppSense, Scott served as President and CEO of MarketTools where he lead a team that dramatically expanded its software-as-a-service offerings and offered new, innovative and disruptive solutions. Scott also served as COO and interim CEO of Borland Software, now a subsidiary of Micro Focus. At Borland, Scott led the repositioning of the company towards Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions to help enterprise software development organisations derive greater value from their investments.
AppSense also made two other key appointments on the senior management team. The company named Ravi Khatod as Senior Vice President of Marketing with responsibility for corporate marketing, product marketing, and product management across all products. Ravi joined AppSense in 2012 as part of the RAPsphere acquisition and brings a unique mix of desktop and mobile experience with enterprise customers from his time at RAPsphere, IronPort and MokaFive.
