Guildford, UK, Tuesday, 28th May, 2013 – Avaya, a global provider of business collaboration and communications solutions and services, today announced that Synexus, a UK-headquartered specialist in clinical trials for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, has selected Avaya’s IP Office, Scopia, and a full complement of Avaya Networking products to increase productivity and ensure multi-site collaboration across its 26 research centres in nine countries.
At Synexus, global expansion created significant pressure on the business, requiring service consistency and adherence to local and regional regulatory standards. From an operational perspective, Synexus also wanted to improve the communication and collaboration capabilities for its international workforce, while controlling costs associated with IT infrastructure.
Avaya partner Digital Exchange Products (DXP), a specialist systems integrator, led the transformation of Synexus together with Tony Healy, group IT director, Synexus. In less than a year, DXP used Avaya to fully virtualise the UK network and create a disaster recovery system, and installed Avaya IP Office in every UK location, together with Scopia video conferencing.
“We tackled the UK problems in less than 12 months, and we’ve got the rest of the world next. I believe IT is the cornerstone of any business. Every part of business relies on IT; the first thing any of us do in the morning is turn on the computer. Previously, there was no real management of IT within the business. That has now changed, and the new, improved network is now capable of supporting the required productivity tools. Our infrastructure is now resilient and fit for purpose.” : Tony Healy, Group IT Director, Synexus
"We are delivering a flexible converged IT solution to improve Synexus’s competitive edge and business agility. Delivering significant cost savings and better management information, we are enabling the business to improve productivity and control costs." : Stuart Sharrock, Sales Manager, Digital Exchange Products
“Avaya’s real-time collaboration technology offers businesses a tremendous opportunity to increase the productivity of any workforce by offering completely flexible solutions such as video as well as calling systems like Avaya IP Office, which are designed for expanding businesses. When underpinned by Avaya Networking, and delivered by an Avaya partner, you have a recipe for technology success.” : Simon Culmer, MD, Avaya UK and Ireland
