Chief Concierge at the Grand Millennium Dubai, Khaled Kassem has been accepted in to Les Clef d’Or UAE, part of the international grouping dedicated to assisting international travellers and tourists.

An active member of the Dubai Concierge Group, Khaled was honoured with his new status by Peter Mansourian, General Manager of the Grand Millennium in a special ceremony.

Congratulating Khaled, Mr Mansourian said the informative concierge deserved to become part of this prestigious organisation following his participation in the Concierge Training scheme operated by the Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM), as well as his regular attendance at refresher and network sessions at premium hotels in the city.

“We are extremely proud to acknowledge Khaled as a supreme example of a professional who not only performs his job well, but goes that extra mile to help out guests and enhance their stay through his intimate knowledge of Dubai and the local community,” he said.

“While everyone has access to the Internet and a wide range of information channels, the personal touch cannot be over-emphasised and through organisations such as the Dubai Concierge Group and Les Clef d’Or UAE, Khaled and his colleagues have access to information which is invaluable to both those familiar with the city and those visiting for the first time.”

Mr Mansourian added that the Grand Millennium Dubai was committed to staff training and development, and this investment in the team was underlined with outstanding performance by staff members such as the Chief Concierge.

Note to editors:  In January 2010, DTCM oversaw the acceptance of UAE in the global Les Clefs d’Or association.  It was the 41st member country and committed to promote tourism and encourage its members to network with other concierges not just in UAE but around the globe.
