San Francisco, CA / Reading, UK – 30th January 2013 – OneLogin, the innovator in identity management, today announced it has launched operations in the United Kingdom to expand sales activities around its cloud-based Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. Alongside the opening of the new office in Reading, the company also announced the hiring of tech industry veteran Daniel Power as UK Sales Director.
OneLogin provides a cloud-based IAM product that offers simple single sign-on (SSO), making it easier for companies to secure and manage access to applications. As part of the OneLogin product, the company also handles IAM challenges like directory integration, provisioning and strong authentication. This approach helps companies overcome some of the time and cost hurdles that have stopped IAM projects in their tracks, or led to significant additional costs being incurred. OneLogin was recently ranked highest in Network World Magazine’s review of eight SSO tools to automate the logins of enterprise applications and improve password complexity.
OneLogin has steadily built a list of clients in the UK including eModeration, News Corp International, Xyratex, Reed Recruitment, Hailo and Circle Health. Adopting OneLogin has enabled global social media management agency eModeration to expand with the demand for their services and attract new, larger customers who tend to have more complex security policies.
Paul Elson, Technology Manager at eModeration said, “Clients frequently have very stringent security requirements and come to us with really tight deadlines.” Fast application provisioning and de-provisioning enables eModeration to react more quickly to clients’ needs. For example, if a client changes a password or tool without notice, the company can accommodate the change within hours and continue to be productive. “We once had to meet a new client’s two week deadline to get several hundred people ready to moderate in multiple languages, assert each of their unique identities, and guarantee they were accessing the services from secure locations. The OneLogin element was painless. It really was,” said Paul Elson.
OneLogin is the first “pure play” identity management as a service (IDaaS) provider to launch in the UK. According to Gartner, by the end of 2014, IDaaS will account for 25% of all new IAM sales, compared with less than 5% in 2012.* Key factors driving enterprises to consider IDaaS include the need to provide stronger authentication into an increasing number of SaaS applications, many of which are often driven by lines of business.
Andrew Kellett, Principal IT Security Analyst at Ovum, advises that “The important requirement when considering working with a specialist supplier of identity in the cloud services is to make sure that the selected vendor has the technical expertise to work with existing IAM infrastructure providers, their systems, and their source directories. The vendor has to take full responsibility for the seamless integration of access to cloud-based services. OneLogin takes this responsibility.”
Alan Pelz-Sharpe, research director at 451 Research noted in a recent report that “True innovation often comes through simplicity and reimagining a situation – as demonstrated by OneLogin, with its recent addition of a novel federated cloud search service. What OneLogin is doing differently is packaging many elements into a single subscription-based offering that bundles directory integration, authentication, password vaulting, associated reporting and analytics and now cloud search, using the identity management function as a platform to leverage the other services into a single product. Essentially, it is becoming a one-stop shop for cloud-user management.”
“We have already built up a global client roster as part of our continued growth, but as the world continues to migrate to cloud and SaaS for their IT requirements, establishing a permanent base of operations in Europe was critical to support the growing demand from UK companies for cloud IAM,” said Thomas Pedersen, chief executive officer of OneLogin. “Dan brings a wealth of experience in software, has a clear passion for what he does and was a natural choice to lead our sales operations in Europe. We see significant growth from helping companies solve their IAM problems in a way that is elegant, fast and simple to implement.”
Power is a veteran in developing and managing operations for technology start-up companies entering the UK. Power was one of the first employees to join LANDesk after its spinout from Intel, where he was responsible for Northern Europe. More recently he launched KACE in Europe prior to its acquisition by Dell.
On his appointment Power commented, “OneLogin is the first entirely cloud-based single sign-on product to launch in Europe, and the company continues to establish itself as a market leader in SSO and IAM. What I’ve witnessed from conversations with existing clients is how quickly they can get to grips with the problems that have plagued them around identity, security and search. I’m personally excited by what the company is doing in the market and how it is expanding its presence in the UK and Europe.”
OneLogin is the innovator in enterprise identity management and provides the industry's most comprehensive solution for managing user identities, both in the cloud and behind the firewall. Unique capabilities like Cloud Search and OneLogin for iPad break down SaaS data silos and increase productivity. OneLogin’s cloud identity platform comes complete with secure single sign-on for web, mobile and iPad, federated search, user provisioning, deep directory integration with real-time user sync, out-of-band multi-factor authentication, VPN integration and compliance reporting. OneLogin’s catalog contains thousands of pre-integrated applications, including Asure Software, Coupa, Box, Clarizen, DocuSign, Egnyte, EchoSign, Google Apps, Innotas, LotusLive, NetSuite, Microsoft Office 365, Oracle CRM On-Demand, Parature, Salesforce.com, SuccessFactors, WebEx, Workday, Yammer, ServiceNow, Zscaler and Zendesk.
