Frog, the world’s largest learning platform provider, has been shortlisted in two categories for the Education Investor Awards 2012 –Virtual learning or school management system provider and Ed Tech Exporter. Now in their third year, the Education Investor Awards recognise excellence in innovation in the education sector.
The past year has seen significant growth for Frog, going from a company that had 1 million users, 700 schools and a turnover of £5 million, to having 6 million users, over 10,000 schools and a turnover of £6.8 million*. In January this year, due to its strong reputation and credibility in the UK, the company secured a multi-million pound deal with the Malaysian Ministry of Education to deliver Frog to all of the country’s 10,000 state schools.
The company has doubled in size over the last twelve months, which puts Frog in a whole new ball game, partnering with companies like Google and Microsoft as part of a wider vision in the UK to make learning personalised for all students.
Frog is more than just a learning platform. Used by over 7 million people across 12 countries, it allows teachers to extend their skills and engage with students in a unique way. It’s a powerful piece of software that brings together all the school’s online systems and educational resources from Frog’s partners, such as I Am Learning, Microsoft and Google, so everything is available in a couple of taps or clicks.
Gareth Davies, Managing Director of Frog comments, “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for two Education Investor Awards. This has been a big year for us with lots of exciting changes and so it is wonderful to receive recognition for some of the great work the Frog team have been doing.”
With Frog, teachers can easily create lessons and resources without relying on anyone technical. Frog is a one-stop-shop, that’s fun to use. It gives teachers meaningful, sensible information that helps them teach better, learn better and run their school better.”
(*Turnover for 2011-12 is for 11 months and doesn’t include what is known as Frog’s biggest sales month of the year - July. The financial year was changed to align with YTL Corporation.)
