Publisher: Telstra

France, Paris: November 19th 2009. Leading IPTV set-top box manufacturer and software developer, Netgem (http://www.netgem.com/) has been chosen by Telstra Corporation Limited (http://www.telstra.com/), to supply set top box device and software for the T-Box™ service.

Australia's leading telecommunication and information Services company is introducing a set top box called T-Box™. T-Box™ for the first time brings Telstra's content from its BigPond brand along with Australian terrestrial free-to-air high definition and standard definition television channels seamlessly together on a home television.

"As a pure play IPTV technology provider, our goal is to help Telecom Operators to develop solutions for connected homes which combines the best of TV and Internet. We're delighted to partner with a leading and innovative Telecom Operator such as Telstra in this exciting T-Box™ project." Said Christophe Aulnette, Managing Director at Netgem.

Capable of downloading movies from Telstra's BigPond Movies store and viewing Telstra's streaming Internet content, BigPond TV, T-Box™ customers will also have access to the terrestrial free-to-air digital television channels within their region.

Telstra is initially conducting a customer experience trial of T-Box™ with a few hundred of its customers in the Australian city of Melbourne before launching the product nationally.
