Sunnyvale, CA – September 24, 2013 – Good Technology™, the leader in secure mobility, in collaboration with the IBM MobileFirst Ecosystem initiative, today announced support for the IBM MobileFirst Application platform - IBM Worklight® 6.0. Through the PhoneGap plugin on the Good Dynamics® Secure Mobility Platform, Worklight applications can now leverage and integrate best-in-class enterprise functionality, including containerisation, secure communication, and policy management. Developers can get step-by-step instructions on how to create and secure Worklight applications, and then deploy them to internal enterprise users or submit them to the App Store for general distribution.
As a result of Good’s support for this platform, organisations can more easily embed enterprise level security controls and policies into their apps, without requiring mobile app developers to learn or write new code. In addition, with Good Dynamics app-to-app encrypted tunneling technology, enterprises can enable mobile workflows to foster collaboration and increase productivity while ensuring data shared between apps is protected, whether they are custom apps built on IBM Worklight or apps from Good’s vast ecosystem of independent software vendor (ISV) partners.
“By leveraging Good Dynamics to build and deploy apps, developers can speed delivery and ensure industry-leading levels of protection and compliance are integrated into their apps,” said John Herrema, senior vice president of product management at Good Technology. “We aim to extend these capabilities to the leading mobile development platforms, tools, and communities and supporting IBM Worklight and its growing community of developers is helping us do that.”
IBM Worklight provides app developers with support across multiple mobile operating environments and devices with the simplicity of a shared code base. With Worklight, developers can efficiently build, run and manage HTML5, hybrid and native apps and and integrate them with the growing ecosystem of third-party tools, libraries, and frameworks, including Good Dynamics.
“In a matter of just a few days, we were able to secure our existing IBM Worklight compatible app ClearConcert™ for IBM Rational Team Concert using the Good Dynamics platform and were pleased with how simple it really is,” said Aaron Allsbrook, Chief Technology Officer for ClearBlade, Inc., a leading mobile application and MBaaS platform provider. “Many corporate customers cannot fully deploy pieces of our technology without addressing the issue of security and Good Dynamics combined with IBM Worklight gives us the full suite of tools to meet their needs.”
