CarCamApp is the latest innovative dashboard camera app for iOS in the Apple App Store. The all-purpose app enables journeys to be captured in the easiest way possible, recording HD video which can be stamped with the date, time and location. Hands-free voice activation can be set at the touch of a button to record video or snap a picture; for long journeys users may choose to record a time-lapse video.

With CarCamApp a driver can capture images to share with family and friends or to evidence driving conditions. Using a front-facing camera the app can also record events inside a vehicle. The app has the ability to transfer files to the cloud using Dropbox or to export to the iPhone photo-library. For those wishing to sync their device manually, iTunes backup is also built in.

CarCamApp is compatible with the iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and iPod touch (4th generation) and requires iOS 5 or higher.

"The uses to which CarCamApp can be put are endless," says Anthony Faconti of Bitmode Ltd. "We're sure we haven't begun to think of the many ways that people will use this app. We designed CarCamApp as an easy-to-use dash camera but we're looking forward to witnessing the creativity of its users.

"Development of this app began when I tried to find an easy and cost-effective way to record my own journeys. I already owned a smartphone and I didn't want to buy a costly stand-alone solution, but the apps I tried in the App Store didn't offer the experience I'd hoped to find.

CarCamApp was developed with the following features in mind: simple to use, hands-free mode, ability to time, date and location stamp with easy back-up options. Drivers are able to record journeys with the security of knowing that if they're unfortunate enough to have a traffic accident there is a definitive record of their driving, road conditions, the date and time of day, as well as location and position on the road. This information should prove invaluable to both drivers and insurers.
