London – 26 September 2013: Colocation data centre operator Next Generation Data (NGD) announced today that customers BT,
Wipro Technologies and UNIT4 will be fielding senior industry experts to join its discussion panel at DatacenterDynamics Converged, Excel London ICC, 20-21 November.
NGD’s CEO, Nick Razey, will be leading the panel on the first day of the Datacenter Dynamics event which is billed as the world’s
largest peer-led data centre conference and expo. Entitled “Are data centres a commodity - does your data centre provider matter?” the interactive session will draw on the in-depth user knowledge and insight of the guest panellists representing the following NGD customer organisations:
- Willie McBrearty, Data Centre Consultant, BT BT has had a strategic data centre presence at NGD Europe since early 2010 with a large custom data hall. The long-term anchor tenancy provides the ideal location and base for BT to deliver secure colocation services to major international customers while also supporting managed Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Cloud offerings.
- Roy White, Data Centre Tower Lead, Wipro Technologies EMEA Wipro’s participation follows a multimillion pound agreement which has recently seen the completion of a substantial multi-rack data hall at NGD Europe data centre conveniently located off the M4 between Bristol and Newport.
- Bengt Höjer, Corporate Product Manager Cloud, UNIT4 Earlier this year global cloud-focused business software group UNIT4 selected NGD Europe as the company’s UK location for delivering secure, reliable and scalable hosting. This is part of its strategy to support global hosting capabilities with local onshore services that provide public and commercial customers with faster compliance to regional data legislation.
Taking place in Hall 4, 12.40 – 13.20, the panel presentation will explore what a good 21st Century colocation provider needs to offer in order to attract and retain customers. The focus will be on how to choose a data centre partner and cover the major decision criteria including service and skills, contractual relationships, energy efficiency, technical architecture, security, compliance and reporting. As part of the discussion attendees will learn best practice on choosing and working with a provider and the fundamentals of this process and relationship.
Commenting on the panel event NGD’s Nick Razey said, “The number of colocation data centres available to corporates and channel partners has grown significantly in recent years. At first glance this may suggest we are becoming a commodity market, but appearances can be deceptive - with potentially disastrous consequences. Our panel discussion will take a holistic view of all the key criteria involved in selecting a data centre provider with the goal of equipping delegates with hints and tips as well as a practical decision making framework.”
