BIOS IT, a leading manufacturer of high performance, low-powered server, storage and workstation solutions, is proud to announce a new partnership with Eltechs to introduce Eltechs ExaGear Server the world’s first cloud solution which provides the technology to run x86 binaries and applications on the power-efficient ARM®-based Viridis server without having to port or recompile.
Introduced to the market in 2012, the Viridis was the world's first self-contained, highly-extensible, ultra-low power cluster solution that is based on the processor technology from ARM – whose CPUs power many of today's consumer mobile devices. Now with ARM-as-a-Service (AaaS), powered by Eltechs ExaGear Server virtualization solution, BIOS IT is introducing the first ARM cloud that allows users to migrate software easily and efficiently to the ARM architecture.
Eltechs ExaGear Server provides a fully transparent way of allowing users access to the low power benefits of ARM-based solutions, while being able to provide customers with services that are run on conventional Intel-based software. Moreover, Eltechs’ solution helps ISVs run their Intel-based programmes on the Viridis without porting or modifying the initial software; avoiding any heavy investment in ARM-based hardware and decreasing time-to-market.
Anatoly Konukhov, Chief Business Development Officer, Eltechs, says, “We are extremely excited to be partnering with BIOS IT for their innovative ARM-as-a-Service platform. Now equipped with Eltechs ExaGear Server software, we’re delighted that we will be able to provide datacentres and Cloud service providers the ability to access their existing IT infrastructure and benefit from the low power benefits of the ARM-architecture without compromising performance or reliability.”
Boston’s Head of HPC, David Power, says, “The AaaS is the ultimate resource for application and software developers looking to migrate their software on to ARM with utmost ease. The addition of Eltechs technology lowers the barriers and sets the way for greater ARM adoption in the datacentre.”
“Our platform provides all the tools to facilitate migration of x86-based applications to ARM in one easy-to-use cloud offering. There are also a range of training videos and professional services available for users looking to fast-track their migration to ARM”.
Eltechs ExaGear Server will be available for free on AaaS hardware only plans until the 31st of September. For more information please visit www.armasaservice.com.
