Unified Streaming’s (http://www.unified-streaming.com) products support both Live and VOD streaming, dynamically wrapping a single video source on-the-fly to provide multiple formats supporting many different devices. Content protection is also covered, with USP enabling on-the-fly DRM using Microsoft PlayReady, AES encryption for iPhone/iPad, Adobe Access 4.0 and Marlin.
Dedicated to helping companies create and execute smart video-streaming technologies, Unified Streaming’s products are in operation around the world, with customers ranging from broadcast networks and online content distributors to small companies and webcasters.
Vualto (http://www.vualto.com) have already implemented USP for Spanish broadcaster Antena3 and Online Broadcast Management systems provider, Ottilus - with several more broadcasters expressing their interest in simplifying their content delivery pipeline and easily supporting new media formats without investing in expensive hardware.
James Burt, CTO of Vualto commented “We are extremely happy to be resellers for the USP Platform. The ethos of both of our companies is very similar – we are both passionate about new technology and providing innovative solutions for media delivery and we have a reputation for fast and no-nonsense delivery. Vualto has developed a technical architecture for both commercial and not for profit broadcasters based on this technology and we are finding this extremely interesting to those companies who have encoding kit that is not up to the job of delivering to all devices but that can certainly deliver one high quality RTMP or Smooth Stream for subsequent repurposing”
Unified Streaming’s solutions fit into existing frameworks (Apache, IIS, Lighttpd, Nginx), thus allowing for greater return on existing investment. Its Unified Streaming Platform (USP) provides streaming from one encode simultaneously to multiple players and devices. In combination with various DRM technologies, this enables Unified Streaming customers to significantly reduce delivery cost and boost time to market in order to address a broader audience. “In our search for knowledgeable partners Vualto immediately stood out and it was clear from the beginning that the combination of Vualto’s expertise on Video and DRM technology was outstanding. Our partnership is in line with Unified Streaming’s go-to-market strategy to team up with the best partners for delivering the best solution and customer experience," said Simon Westbroek, Unified Streaming Director of Sales and co-founder.
Vualto and USP are looking forward to working together throughout 2013 and beyond to successfully deliver the next generation of streaming solutions to broadcasters and content owners.
