NextiraOne counts new Order for Brussels Office of Institute of Chartered Accountants an Internation
ICAEW expansion in Belgium is supported by NextiraOne's international capabilities

Released: 14th December 2009
Publisher: NextiraOne

Lichfield - 14th December, 2009. NextiraOne, Europe's leading expert in communications services, has won a further international order from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). The agreement will see the implementation of a new telephony system for the ICAEW's growing Brussels office, in line with its policy of international expansion. It follows the successful implementation of a complete Unified Communications system in the UK, which introduced extensive collaborative working applications and is helping the ICAEW to improve its quality of service and reduce its telephony and operating costs.

The ICAEW is the largest professional accountancy organisation in Europe and has over 132,000 members who run and advise businesses across every sector, spanning 165 countries and with a number of the FTSE CEOs and FDs as its members. Over 15,000 members live and work outside the UK and the ICAEW is continuing to expand its overseas operations. Following the successful implementation of the UK infrastructure, which involved voice, video and data communications across the ICAEW's offices in Milton Keynes and London, NextiraOne has since delivered projects in Singapore and is currently implementing the Brussels system. This will be linked to the UK's infrastructure to provide the full benefits of Unified Communications.

Further projects may follow and NextiraOne is well-placed to undertake a wide range of international ICT work for the ICAEW. NextiraOne's substantial European presence with direct sales and service organisations in 17 countries and partnerships across the world was a significant factor in the ICAEW's choice of the company as its partner. The work on the Brussels solution will be carried out by NextiraOne Belgium. NextiraOne will also implement the upgrades and modifications required to link the Brussels network into the ICAEW's UK infrastructure.

NextiraOne will implement a new Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise platform for the Brussels office that will include Voicemail and Unified Communications facilities provided by the Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch UC servers installed at ICAEW Milton Keynes, which will be migrated from a single-site to a multi-site UC solution. Networking to the main UK site will be provided via ISDN allowing Brussels and UK users to dial desk to desk, with VoIP trunks provided as back-up and to guarantee quality of service, particularly for UC access. The system will also be configured to allow the ICAEW main site in Milton Keynes to manage the new system in Brussels.

"NextiraOne designed and implemented our Unified Communications system and we were impressed with their understanding of our business needs," said Bill Wilson, Director of IT at the ICAEW. "With their international expertise and extensive European and global operations, it made sense for us to ask NextiraOne to implement the new system in Brussels and to undertake the UK upgrades."

NextiraOne is Europe's leading expert in communications services and has a direct sales and service presence in 17 countries, serving more than 60,000 customers. The company designs, installs, maintains and supports sustainable solutions to meet the communications needs of its customers - from voice, data and video to mobility, security and applications. Working with the world's leading technology companies, NextiraOne provides end-to-end sustainable communications solutions to deliver measurable business benefits to its customers. Through an alliance of more than 100 service partners worldwide, NextiraOne extends its support for multinational customers in Europe to more than 100 countries across the globe.

Steven Skakel, Managing Director UK & Ireland at NextiraOne, said: "More and more of our business involves international and multi-national projects. We are delighted that NextiraOne has been able to support the strategic objectives of the ICAEW to expand globally and we are well-placed to continue that support as the ICAEW grows its overseas business and representation in the future."
