Sentrum Construction Management assures delivery of quality bespoke data centre construction New brand to manage design and construction of self owned and operated data centre facilities

Released: 2nd November 2009
Publisher: maillot jaune communications

London, November 2nd 2009 - Sentrum (http://www.sentrum.com/), a specialist in data centre solutions, has today announced the launch of a new business division - Sentrum Construction Management (SCM). Operating under the Sentrum brand, the new company has been created to focus specifically on designing and building data centres for customers that wish to own and operate their own data centre facilities.

Complementing Sentrum's existing business, SCM will take the lead on data centre construction projects from concept through to completion, using the proven supply chain that has been established as a result of Sentrum's extensive data centre building operations. Not only will SCM strive to create a unique working relationship with the customer, delivering faster data centre construction than any other third party can provide, but the company also expects the projects to be more cost effective.

"We recognise that building a data centre is a major financial undertaking for any company," said Andy Ruhan, CEO for both Sentrum and Sentrum Construction Management. "As a result SCM has been founded on the application of best practices in construction management, coupled with a drive to innovate for best quality of service, improved delivery, and most importantly best value. Ensuring clear channels of communication means that the customer remains closely involved in the process, that the building project is completed on time, delivered with quality and within a realistic and controlled budget."

The SCM model for data centre construction can be applied in any geography. Sentrum has already delivered complete facilities in the UK and is project managing the next phase at Sentrum IV (Woking) with its existing supply chain to deliver 200,000 sq ft of technical space. SCM will now engage in construction project management and the development of strategic partnerships throughout the EU and the UAE.

"SCM offers an integral and interactive part of the building process from design through to delivery; enhanced further by Sentrum's reputation for in-depth knowledge and hands on approach to data centre design and construction," added Franek Sodzawiczny, Managing Director for Sentrum Construction Management. "The company's attention to detail is what differentiates the way we work - the build needs to be an enjoyable, hassle-free experience and, ultimately, mutually rewarding."

About Sentrum
Founded in 2005, Sentrum specialises in the design, build and management of bespoke data centre solutions for the multinational corporate market. The company has a portfolio of four facilities around London (Camberley, Sutton, Watford & Woking) and a fifth in Rugby comprising in excess of 1.2 million sq ft of technical space.

Introduced to address the gap in the marketplace for data centre facilities that could meet corporate requirements of less than 50,000 sq ft, Sentrum is the first data centre operator to offer fully bespoke solutions, with a dedicated plant for every data suite. In addition, because every data suite is bespoke, Sentrum offers clients a practical cost-effective solution that is tailored to meet specific business needs.

The Sentrum team is comprised entirely of data centre and property development professionals. The two principals alone have built out over 3.2 million sq ft of data centre space to date.
