Serena Software Launches Valentine's Day DevOps Twitter Contest
Tell Your Dev, Ops and DevOps Team What They Mean Via a Twitter Love Letter

Released: 14th February 2013
Publisher: Serena Software

St Albans, UK – 14th February 2013 – Serena Software, the leader in orchestrated IT solutions, today announced a fun new Twitter-powered DevOps Love Letter contest to kick off the most romantic holiday of the year, Valentine’s Day.

There are three key players/teams in the triangle that is the modern product-focused IT organisation: Dev, Ops, and for the most successful teams, the marriage of the two, DevOps. These teams all work closely together and play integral roles, but such as with any relationship comes wonderful triumphs and infatuation and also sometimes frustrations and lows. For example sometimes Dev is especially appreciative of Ops’ ability to solve service problems and on the flip side, sometimes Ops isn’t so happy with Dev’s inability to deliver on deployment. Serena is launching a Twitter love letter contest to showcase those feelings between, Dev, Ops and DevOps to one another.

Anyone on Twitter is encouraged to submit their own DevOps Love Letter. A panel of judges will select the best DevOps Love Letter entries based on creativity, humor, relevance and frequency of submissions. Winners will be announced via Twitter on March 11, 2013. The grand prize winner will be awarded a $150 US AmEx gift card, bottle of California Champagne and a box of Ghirardelli chocolates. Three winners will be chosen with second place receiving $100 AmEx gift card and third, a $50 AmEx gift card.

To be included, simply write and Tweet a DevOps Love Letter. All entries must be submitted via Twitter to @SerenaSoftware, and include the hash tag #DevOpsLove.  Submitters must also follow @SerenaSoftware.

To help inspire you, here are a few examples:

@SerenaSoftware Dev - nice code. Love, Ops #MatchMadeInHeaven #DevOpsLove

@SerenaSoftware Ops, I love your communication and our collaboration. Love, Dev. #BestFriendsForever #DevOpsLove
