Jaspersoft, the intelligence inside apps and business processes, today announced that MidlandHR has chosen its reporting and analytics platform to report on critical HR issues and help build a datamart, producing dashboards to enable strategic decision making. Using JasperServer, MidlandHR developed a graphical reporting system so that important information can be readily viewed and appropriate action taken.
MidlandHR is a leading supplier of HR, payroll, talent management and workforce planning solutions and services. With a wealth of industry experience, MidlandHR’s solutions support some of the largest and most successful organisations in the UK, from both public and private sectors.
The company’s software enables organisations to achieve proven cost savings from process efficiency gains, structure their HR service delivery in the most effective way, ensure that HR practices comply with corporate, regulatory and legal standards and produce management information which supports strategic decision making. Previously the company provided text-based reports but responding to customer requirements led the team to investigate graphical reporting.
“We needed a cross platform solution as our customers’ data is housed on a wide variety of platforms. We were also keen to avoid the lock-in that you get with a big vendor but really needed a stable, mature product to handle our customers’ most sensitive employee information,” said Robert O’Mara, Technical Development Manager at MidlandHR.”
According to Neil Barry, Sales Manager UK & Ireland at Jaspersoft, “In order to provide their customers with the ability to produce management information which supports strategic decision making, MidlandHR chose JasperServer for increased reporting capabilities that would enable their customers to create reports and analyse their data. Using Jaspersoft, MidlandHR developed a datamart, which is the access layer to the data warehouse used to get data out to users, along with dashboards which allow their customers to view their data and enable more informed decisions.”
Available dashboards include; Headcount, Diversity, Turnover, Absence and Performance Management. “One of the most popular dashboards is Absence,” said O’Mara, “It is really vital that managers retain a tight control on absence as this can be a huge cost. High staff turnover is also dangerous to a firm; being able to see, at a glance, what your turnover rate is can prove critical to a firm’s success.”
With this information readily available, companies can take rapid action to avoid difficulties and ensure and prove that they are compliant in terms of regulatory issues. “We intend to extend the number of dashboards available and our objective is to provide an environment where clients can develop their own dashboards,” said O’Mara.
