Excelerate Technology Reports Significant Business Growth
Excelerate Technology bucks the trend in the current market downturn announcing significant growth

Released: 13th March 2009
Publisher: Excelerate Technology

Bucking the trend in the current market downturn, Excelerate Technology, the leading supplier of satellite and wireless-based data, voice and video solutions, has announced significant business growth for 2008. During this period, the company has achieved an increase in turnover in excess of 70% and more than doubled staff levels.

During the last seven years, Excelerate Technology has been responsible for equipping some of the UK's largest and most advanced mobile command and control vehicles for organisations such as Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue and South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SCAS). The company has also won major contracts to equip smaller, rapid response vehicles with state of the art communications technologies for a wide range of customers including the Garda and Kent Fire and Rescue.

Other contracts recently awarded include Fife Fire and Rescue Service, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, Wiltshire Fire and Rescue, West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust and South West Ambulance Service NHS Trust. In addition, Excelerate was appointed technology supplier nationally for the Department of Health's HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) programme, which will result in this country having the world's most technically advanced and resilient ambulance service.

To service this expanding customer base, Excelerate Technology has undertaken a major programme of investment with the opening of a new R&D and project engineering centre. This will enhance its ability to provide innovative communications solutions to clients operating in the emergency services, utilities and local government market sectors. Excelerate is also in the middle of a recruitment drive for additional technical and support staff that has already resulted in a 100% increase in headcount. The company expects a further 50% growth in this area over the next six months.

According to David Savage, founder and CEO of Excelerate Technology: "These impressive results will help consolidate our position as the leading provider of mobile satellite and wireless communications solutions to the emergency services and other key market sectors. We have a healthy pipeline of new orders and will continue to focus on the development of new, innovative solutions that will deliver true interoperability for the blue light services."

Excelerate Technology is the market leader in the supply and integration of satellite and wireless-based data, voice and video applications on Mobile Incident Command and Control and Communications Support Vehicles used by the emergency services. It also offers a range of similar solutions for use in fixed and mobile environments for a wide range of other market sectors including education, utilities, medical, sport and commercial.

Excelerate Technology operates and manages its own satellite and private GSM network from its International Headquarters near Cardiff in the UK. There, a Network Operations Centre ensures the delivery of high quality bandwidth, which can be tailored in real time to suit the specific needs, budget and service level guarantee requirements of clients. The company offers a complete single source solution by providing full training and support to complement its expert design, development, supply and integration capabilities.
