Nottingham, 21 February 2013 –Nottingham City Transport (NCT) has chosen MidlandHR’s iTrent to optimise HR and payroll service delivery through smarter processes that support key HR areas like payroll, absence, recruitment and self-service for managers and employees.
Greater Nottingham’s principal bus operator has already implemented iTrent’s HR, Payroll and Absence modules, to be followed by Web Recruitment, Manager and Employee Self-Service and People Development.
Commenting on the key project drivers, Mick Leafe, Nottingham City Transport’s human resources director, explains: “As the fifth biggest private employer in Greater Nottingham, we run over 330 buses and are supported by 1,150 people including 830 drivers. Our principal requirement was to implement a centralized web based solution for all HR & payroll data, but which also offered the flexibility to enable managers to access and maintain departmental data and, eventually, allow all employees to view and update personal data.
“We knew that we wanted a fully integrated solution and were impressed with iTrent because of the way in which it streamlines processes, improves efficiency and transparency, and shows information in real-time. Having previously run three separate systems, each one required the same data to be entered separately. With iTrent, information only needs to be entered once, considerably reducing HR’s administration time and enhancing the availability of management information. This also provides a better opportunity for both decision making and strategic planning.”
Electing to host the iTrent system in-house, NCT currently runs all payroll functions including printing payslips in-house for its two payrolls, one weekly and one monthly. However, it plans to introduce electronic payslips in the near future.
