Retailer Ann Summers has elicited the assistance of specialist unified communications integrator avsnet for improving the front of house window display at its flagship store in London. Its requirements included the need for displays that allowed a variety of content types in difficult light and the ability for head office management to access the digital signage solution remotely.  

Following a recommendation based on avsnet’s knowledge of the retail AV sector, its ability to meet tight deadlines and its strong consultative approach, Ann Summers approached avsnet for consultation. avsnet worked closely with Ann Summers and in a short space of time designed a solution - a four staggered screen video wall at the Wardour Street store.

Drawing on past retail project experience and its technological expertise, avsnet recommended several displays with sunlight readable technology that had been specifically designed to counteract this. It also suggested slim bezel and LED displays for a lower TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and to increase the Wardour Street shop’s return on investment.

Ann Summers also needed a solution that would allow video content to be created and changed remotely from head office. Understanding Ann Summers’ exact requirements and leveraging its product knowledge, avsnet provided a SaaS (Software as a Service) licensed option. Using a cloud digital signage solution lets Ann Summers staff remotely manage content from any internet browser.

Ann Summers’ marketing department can log into the system via any PC anywhere in the world to upload and schedule video content. This flexibility simplifies the management of content and allows Wardour Street to show localised content unique to the store.
