Powerline networking specialist devolo has launched its most comprehensive networking adapter to date, combining all the elements of previous products into one simple device. The dLAN® 500 AV Wireless+ adapter combines WiFi, Powerline and Ethernet, resulting in a high-performance and compact communications hub for the home network.
The new premium adapter connects all Internet-compatible devices in one room in a simple, fast and secure manner. Alongside a dual-band (2.4 or 5GHz) WiFi access point, the new flagship product of the dLAN 500 product line offers a switch with three LAN ports, ensuring WiFi coverage in the home is simply and efficiently optimised. WiFi is available exactly where the user needs it and up to three cabled devices- such as Smart TVs, PCs or game consoles- can be connected simultaneously via a single adapter, anywhere a power outlet is available.
The adapter, equipped with a high-performance chip, enables transmission rates of up to 500 Mbps over the electrical wiring even at a distance of up to 300 metres. Furthermore, the highest ever transfer rates are available via the Wireless+ allowing video content to be received and displayed in HD and 3D quality.
Heiko Harbers, CEO of devolo said: "Mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets have become part of our everyday life. Using dLAN Powerline, you create a central network infrastructure that can integrate wireless products wherever you need them. This makes dLAN one of a kind, because we can ensure the highest transmission quality in every room of the home – whether cabled or wireless."
The integrated electrical socket provides two functions with no electrical connection lost while the integrated mains filter provides a substantial reduction in noise from other devices – resulting in an even better and more stable bandwidth.
Supported by all current encryption standards, home networks and wireless connections are protected from undesirable activity. In addition, WPS enables a simple and secure communication between the Wi-Fi adapter and mobile devices.
A free iOS and android app is also available to both view and maintain the device’s configuration. Via the dLAN cockpit app, users can set up individual access parameters or specify when the WiFi should be active or switched off. Alternatively, the WiFi function can also be switched on or off directly on the adapter.
The 500 AV Wireless+ also allows users to set up a guest account, while the daily online time quota for users can also be limited, maximising both security and technical performance.
The devolo dLAN 500 AV Wireless+ is available online now. An individual adapter costs £89.99, while the starter kit costs £129.99.
