Improving company team processes is at the centre of the new sales partnership between Web content management (WCM) expert e-Spirit, manufacturer of FirstSpirit CMS, and Unify, formerly Siemens Enterprise Communications software and services. The two companies signed a collaboration agreement at the CeBIT trade show, in which Unify as e-Spirit's consulting and implementation partner will use FirstSpirit as the CMS for their portal solution on Liferay. By combining Unify's IP-based corporate communications solution, the Liferay portal functions and e-Spirit's CMS, users will benefit from optimised intranet and Internet add-ons designed to ease their workloads. The new solution efficiently combines intranet, Internet, telephone systems and shared document processing.
FirstSpirit fits well in Unify’s Professional Services portfolio and as part of its enterprise social collaboration solution. Unify’s solutions bring together different networks, devices and applications onto one easy-to-operate platform that enables teams to share information more comprehensively and effectively without having to switch between solutions. By signing into one system, the FirstSpirit CMS, they have immediate access to all the information and functions they need. For example, an employee can get in touch with a colleague by phone directly through the intranet. Also, access to calendar entries, shared documents and other corporate information can be done more easily and efficiently due to the joining of Unify's Unified Communications (UC) solutions and the content management functions of FirstSpirit. This approach also improves the process of integrating context-based UC services into enterprise collaboration portals as well as simplifying content management.
Unify and e-Spirit provide an intuitive user experience by enabling context and content-based communication. “Those who want to be well prepared for rapid developments online and offer their employees, customers and partners an impressive user experience must have intelligent IT solutions that are integrated and dovetail with one another,” says Johannes Häusele, CSO and member of the board at e-Spirit. “This is the only way that complex challenges can be met quickly and cost effectively. FirstSpirit is designed for integration and we have intentionally and consistently pursued a best-of-breed approach. We are excited about our partnership with Unify. Together, we can support our customers in better addressing current and future requirements when it comes to collaboration.”
Dr. Yves Escaig, Head of Implementation Services and Solutions at Unify, adds, “FirstSpirit enables us to offer our customers a comprehensive and complete solution based on enterprise collaboration portals, a professional and intelligent content management system and a context-based link with communications tools and services.”
