Transformation and consolidation are two of the key challenges, but also opportunities, for telecommunications providers. They must transform from providers of commodity voice services to seek opportunities presented by emerging technologies, markets and services in conjunction with partners to better serve customers from the largest enterprise and public sector organisations, to small businesses and consumers. They must embrace new technologies to leverage their investments in their IT and communications infrastructures to stave off competition and increase their relevance for their customers and identify new revenue-generating opportunities.
