The independent German distributor acceed introduces the new ECS-7800-PoE fanless Box PC. With a third generation quad core processor, up to 16 GB RAM, five monitor connections and a large number of interfaces, this embedded system offers a wide range of applicability: machine vision, video monitoring, visual quality control as well as imaging techniques for medical technology.
The core of the ECS-7800-PoE is the Ivy Bridge Processor and its QM77 Intel chipset. Up to 16 GB DDR3 working memory provides ample capacity for the high data throughput by image processing. The casing offers space for two 2.5" SATA hard drives; here SSD and HDD can be combined. A CFast slot is provided at the front for saving large data quantities externally.
The ECS-7800-PoE works fanless and can be operated within an extended temperature range of -25° C to +70° C. Four COM connections, four USB 3.0 connections, two USB 2.0 connections, two mini PCIe connections (of which one has a SIM card slot) and a CFast slot provide all the prerequisites for sophisticated industrial applications. The graphic chip HD Graphics 4000 integrated in the processor supports DirectX 11 and enables the connection of up to five monitors. Moreover, four gigabit PoE connections make it possible to supply connected network devices directly with electricity via the LAN cable.
In addition to a watchdog timer (1 to 255 seconds), which triggers an automatic system reboot if the software works in an uncontrolled manner, the systems have CPU overheating protection. In case of imminent overheating, the cycle frequency of the processor is automatically restricted, thus reducing the waste heat arising.
The dimensions of the aluminium casing are 260 × 215 × 79 mm and it weighs 3 kg. A mounting bracket for wall installation is included with the delivery.
