Newbury, UK – 15th December 2009 - Centrix Software, a provider of solutions that optimise the business value, visibility, and control of IT services, today announced the appointment of two executives with strong backgrounds in the field of virtualisation and enterprise support. Alan Campbell, formerly strategic account manager at VMware, has been appointed as Centrix Software’s new enterprise sales manager, and Rob Tribe, former senior systems engineering manager for VMware, joins the company as its lead systems engineer.
The new appointments further strengthen Centrix Software’s enterprise sales team as the company continues to expand its channel network and market reach.
Campbell brings more than 20 years experience working in software, hardware and services enterprise sales to Centrix Software. In Campbell’s five years at VMware he helped grow the company’s UK business, managing large enterprise accounts in the finance, media and telecoms sectors. Prior to VMware, Campbell held enterprise sales positions within EMC.
Tribe spent six years at VMware, and in this time played a key role in helping to grow the channel pre-sales team in EMEA as the virtualisation company expanded outside of the US. Prior to VMware, Tribe held technical pre-sales positions at EMC, Sequent and IBM.
Lewis Gee, vice president of worldwide sales at Centrix Software, said: “Rob and Alan both bring significant skills around virtualisation to our team. Their knowledge of the enterprise IT market combined with their extensive experience in virtualisation and application sales will further strengthen our services and support. We are very pleased that they are joining Centrix Software and helping us to accelerate our growth.”
At Centrix Software, Campbell and Tribe will provide support to resellers and customers for Centrix Software’s WorkSpace 4.0 platform, which provides the industry’s first solution for metering how applications are used and delivered within enterprise organisations. The solution enables organisations to extract more value from their core application and infrastructure investments such as virtualisation, optimising different approaches to IT delivery and applying greater cost control.
On joining the company, Campbell commented, “The enterprise IT market is being affected by the rise of new application delivery models and infrastructure choices such as virtualisation. Companies are looking for solutions that can deliver visibility across all of IT, not just individual silos. I’m excited to be joining Centrix Software at this point, as the company is leading this new market.”
“Desktop virtualisation is a growing area of focus for enterprises as IT services and delivery models are changing. Centrix Software is leading the way in helping companies understand their IT and application infrastructures and assisting organisations to see more value from IT through its application metering, control and delivery solutions,” said Tribe.
