DataDirect Shadow v7

Lower operational costs have been addressed in a way that not only reduces the cost of running existing applications, but also adds the value of SOA and web services capabilities at little extra capital cost and virtually zero additional operating costs.

Shadow v7 expands the range of SOA and data connectivity options available to existing System z mainframe users. For example, native SQL support is being added via an ANSI-92 compliant SQL Engine, allowing mainframe data applications to now issue SQL queries and open up those data assets. This allows, for the first time, the mainframe to integrate with ‘new world’ web services and SOA-based real-time, event-driven business applications at the data level as well as the business logic and screen logic levels.
