Three more new additions at Solicitors Own Software

Leading legal software supplier Solicitors Own Software (SOS) has announced three new recruits as part of its managed growth strategy.

Steve Nicholls, Phil Bradfield and Michael Luscombe are the latest additions to the team at SOS.

Steve joins SOS as a scripting consultant, after spending 15 years at a law firm and prior to that, over 20 years in customer-facing roles with HSBC.

“This is an exciting new departure for me,” he says. “Having worked as a legal cashier and then, for 11 years, as a practice manager, I know how law firms work and the challenges they face.

“All the clients and colleagues I have encountered at SOS are very friendly and I am looking forward to my first project ‘go live’ in the next month or so.”

Phil, who has a degree in cognitive science from Leeds University, joins SOS after having worked as an IT trainer in The Gambia’s Ministry of Education.

“As well as spending two years in The Gambia in a general maintenance, admin and data analysis role, I also have two years’ experience as a software developer in the UK. All of this experience should prove invaluable in my new role as an SOS Connect developer,” he said.

Meanwhile Michael, who graduated from Reading University with a computer science degree last year, joins SOS as a support analyst.

He said: “In addition to the fact that it is relevant to my degree, I always like to investigate things and try new things out, so my new role suits me perfectly. I have also had customer service roles before, so I enjoy the element of client interaction that this role will entail.”

David McNamara, managing director of Solicitors Own Software, said: “It is crucially important to us to maintain our standards of excellent customer service and product quality by managing our growth prudently and by investing in high calibre people.

“To ensure that we are in tune with our clients and the legal sector, we aim to recruit client-facing members of staff who have direct experience of working in law firms. Around 40 per cent of employees at SOS have worked in a law firm, while our technical team represents a broad set of skills and experience.”
