Adapt And Orbian Secure Second Award Victory

Released: 12th December 2012
Publisher: RealWire

London – December 12, 2012 – Adapt, the independent IT managed services provider, has won the award for ‘Cloud Project of the Year’ alongside its customer Orbian, the world’s leading non-bank Supply Chain Finance company, in the Tech Success Awards 2012. Organised by TechWeek Europe, the Tech Success Awards recognise the achievements of IT Managers and CIOs in end-user companies involved in innovative technology projects, and the winners were announced via a webcast on December 6.  This victory comes just a fortnight after Adapt and Orbian were named winners of the ‘Private Sector Cloud Project of the Year’ in this year’s SVC Awards.

With growing global customer demand, Orbian – which provides collaborative supply chain finance solutions to large, global corporations – identified the need for a new IT hosting infrastructure to support significant increases in transaction volume and web service usage. After carefully assessing the market, Orbian selected Adapt’s enterprise Virtual Data Centre (eVDC), an award winning enterprise cloud hosting platform, in 2011.

The Adapt solution represents a significant IT uplift for Orbian, with the eVDC providing access to enterprise compute resources that would have been out of reach under Orbian’s previous delivery model.  In addition, disaster recovery documentation and system procedures have been greatly simplified as a result of this initiative. With continued growth planned, the eVDC’s flexibility and scalability provide the perfect technological platform from which Orbian can further develop its technology services and grow its SCF business into the foreseeable future.

“Working with Adapt has been a great success and met all of our expectations,” said Huw Jones, Director of IT Service Management at Orbian.  “This project was a complex undertaking with many deliverables and its successful completion will now cement Orbian’s leading position as a skilled innovator in supply chain financial services.  Furthermore, the flexibility and scalability of the eVDC ensures that we can continue to meet the demands of our growing customer base within a very efficient capital model. The two award wins recognise the hard work done by both companies and highlights the strong working relationship we have with the Adapt team.”

“Winning the SVC award for this project was a great achievement, but securing a second victory in the Tech Success Awards is outstanding,” said Simon Fisk, Sales and Marketing Director at Adapt. “Our work to enable a scalable, future-proof IT environment for Orbian was a challenging venture for both parties – but the results speak for themselves. As cloud becomes more important to businesses everywhere, we hope to see more projects such as this recognised by leading influencers such as TechWeek Europe.”
