Chloride Acquires The Siemens UPS Systems' UK Operation
Chloride continues to grow through acquisition

Released: 20th January 2009
Publisher: MCC International

Chloride, one of Europe's leading suppliers of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and services, today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Siemens UPS Systems UK operation.

Chloride offers the most comprehensive critical power range and service support available in the UK. The acquisition further strengthens the industry's largest critical power service network, which provides service and support for all aspects of the critical power infrastructure.

"The sale to Chloride represents an important development for the business," says Siemens UPS Systems UK Business Manager, Gert Rohrmann. "Chloride is a European market leader for critical power products and services, allowing our business to develop further within an organisation focused exclusively on providing critical power solutions."

Siemens already has a close working relationship with Chloride, following the acquisition of the Siemens Masterguard business by Chloride in 1999. The combination of Chloride's breadth and depth of critical power knowledge and service delivery will provide Siemens and Chloride customers a genuine opportunity of benefiting from a single supplier for all critical power requirements.

As part of the sale, Siemens UPS Systems UK staff has transferred to Chloride with the business. This ensures a seamless transition to the new business for its customers and maintains the high quality of service associated with Siemens UPS Systems.

"Siemens UPS Systems UK has a strong customer base in industrial automation and process control," says Chloride UK Managing Director, Andrew Lowe. "This is an attractive area for Chloride UK's business and will strengthen our presence in the market. Through the acquisition we are better equipped to continue to provide our high availability services to our core markets of data centres, transport, medical, government and emergency services."
