CoreMedia to provide Web Content Management platform for Australian Broadcasting Corporation - CoreMedia CMS to support major roll-out of ABC websites including Web 2.0 support

Released: 12th November 2009
Publisher: https://www.coremedia.com

London and Hamburg, Germany, Thursday 12 November, 2009 - CoreMedia, a leading Web Content Management company, has secured a major order from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) for the CoreMedia CMS solution for online publishing. ABC's prime vendor, NCS Australia, the Australian subsidiary of NCS, Asia's leading IT and communications engineering solutions provider, will migrate three major ABC websites including the corporation's prestigious www.abc.net.au/news site to CoreMedia CMS.

CoreMedia will provide ABC with a robust and flexible strategic online publishing platform that will enable the broadcaster to optimise the launch, roll-out and implementation of a range of websites over the coming months and years. The scalable underlying architecture of CoreMedia CMS ensures greater flexibility, so that ABC's future requirements can also be met, enabling a 'grow-as-you-go' approach for the entire organisation.

CoreMedia CMS offers full support for a wide range of content types and will help ABC to both extract added value from its existing content as well as ensure information consistency across a range of sites using a single core content management platform as content backbone. ABC Online content makers will be provided with a customised easy-to-use editorial front end to ensure efficient and comfortable editorial workflows.

"We're delighted that ABC has selected CoreMedia CMS as its strategic Web Content Management platform for online publishing. The contract confirms CoreMedia as the logical choice for major media companies that need to maximise their return on engagement, provide their readers with more dynamic, personalised offerings, and encourage interaction among readers, as well as between readers and editors," added Burghardt Groeber, CoreMedia's Managing Director for the Asia Pacific region. "The CoreMedia CMS offers shorter time-to-Web, reliability, scalability, ease-of-use as well as speed and flexibility of implementation. We will be working closely with NCS Australia as our implementation partner to deliver this project for the ABC."

CoreMedia's Web Content Management offering allows organisations to maximise their return on customer engagement. It enables enterprises to create powerful, consistent and engaging Web experiences for all users, and provides a full range of capabilities to enable organisations to manage their content, enable conversations and drive the conversion of content into revenue.
