Attendance at SkillSoft's annual EMEA channel partner event, SkillSoft Channel Café, rose by 20% this year, demonstrating the growing global interest and confidence in e-learning. Delegates from 18 different countries met in Barcelona to discuss current global trends and the future of learning strategies - and also to meet SkillSoft senior executives who had flown in from the US for the occasion.
One of the highlights of a packed two days was the announcement of the SkillSoft Channel Partner Awards. The EMEA Channel Partner of the Year was awarded to SEEK Learning UK Ltd and Lluis Estebe from LMP Bomore B.V of Spain was named as EMEA Channel Sales Person of the Year.
A relatively new partner company, SEEK was nonetheless praised for its leadership, experience and substantial growth - plus the level of revenue it was able to generate in such a short timeframe. Lluis Estebe's success, it was said, stemmed from his creative approach and the various innovative projects he had introduced, helping to accelerate his company's SkillSoft business and delivering substantial growth year on year.
"It was very rewarding that, despite the general economic situation and budget cutbacks, so many of our partners were able to join us in Barcelona. I believe this reflects the growing enthusiasm and excitement in the market for our different online learning methods - such as Live Learning and Books24x7 - as they establish their place either as part of a blended learning programme or as standalone training," said Kevin Young, vice president and managing director, SkillSoft EMEA. The SkillSoft Partner Awards are based on a number of criteria, such as revenue and growth, innovation, and good business practice.
