New consultancy launched to bridge the gap between technology and commercial leadership

Released: 30th January 2013
Publisher: RealWire

A new consultancy established by two of the most experienced names in the UK IT sector has been launched with a focus on the commercialisation of technology.

Clive Mayne and Gordon Young, both senior executives in the UK IT industry, have joined forces to launch ExeTec Consulting with the goal of exploiting the commercial potential of technology companies. This includes guiding product delivery to optimise commercial return, identifying and exploiting market opportunities as well as developing communications strategies to capitalise on market opportunities.

The consultancy has recently just completed an engagement with Datapoint to bring its new strategic contact centre optimisation solution to market having delivered the first customer opportunity for the solution.

Clive Mayne, Managing Partner, ExeTec Consulting, stated: “From concept to exploitation, our extended team of specialist CXOs can build on in-house resources, giving our clients access to wider expertise across a broad range of functions.  At its core the consultancy aims to assist IT companies in commercialising technologies rapidly and with minimum risk.”

ExeTec Consulting is actively targeting established and start-up companies in the networking and security, IT electronics, software, telco, nanotechnology, wireless and semiconductor industries.

Gordon Young added: “Our team has experience of executive leadership which bridges technology development, operations, marketing and business development which delivers for our clients a rich depth and breadth of experience and insight into driving business growth.”

The focus of the new consultancy has come from extensive real-world experience in product management and other business critical disciplines such as leadership, technology commercialisation, marketing, business development and sales.  ExeTec can therefore provide immediate access to a broad skills set to deliver practical support, integrated directly into an existing team.

Clive concluded: “Our hands on approach working as part of an internal team, means we can deliver tangible business results. Our team of CXO leaders bring a wealth of experience which will enable and facilitate our clients to take technology from concept to market, bridging both technology and commercial leadership skills.”

“I engaged ExeTec Consulting to assist in the development of a strategic solution specifically utilising their experience in product development and management to complete the development phase of the project and bring it to market. I was immediately impressed with their attention to detail, the documentation created and their constant ability to deliver the project on time for Datapoint. ExeTec became trusted by me to deliver not only the project, but also a version based in the Cloud and a new Datapoint website complete with marketing material repositioning Datapoint in the market. As a final touch, they also opened up the project’s first sales prospect for Datapoint in Europe,” said Jim Kent, Chief Executive at Datapoint.
