ReportBox online report writing tool simplifies the preparation of end of term reports

ReportBox created by teacher Rachel Johnson is a highly secure online report writing tool for primary schools, designed to take the strain out of this typically grueling end of term task.

Available anytime, anywhere, ReportBox for Mac or PC can be accessed by teachers securely online in and out of school. Schools simply log on to set up their own account, headings and subject sections, import a spreadsheet from SIMs or any other Management Information System (MIS) or class list in word doc format, and create their own bank of comments which they can personalize as they are applied to each pupil.  Alternatively teachers can access customisable report templates and a shared bank of over 15,000 comments submitted by other schools using the system.

Developed by Rachel’s husband, highly successful internet consultant Stuart Johnson, ReportBox automatically identifies the gender of each child and tailors the pronouns used alongside comments (e.g. substituting “his” for “her”) where appropriate, highlighting non-gender specific names such as Jordan.  Siblings are also easy to identify so teachers can choose alternative comments to those included on the reports of their brothers and sisters.  Integrated spellchecking means that finished reports can be efficiently proof read and signed off by a member of the senior management team before being saved and printed off for parents.

Commenting on ReportBox Mr Peter Fowler, Headteacher of Granby Primary School, said, “Granby used this product last year and found the experience very good. The software is usable, produces high quality reports with a significant reduction in teacher hours and time savings of at least 40% compared with previous years. It was easy to set up and the quality of the finished product was high.

Asking the teachers whether they wished to use ReportBox again this year the answer was a unanimous Yes!”

Individualt eachers with up to 35 students keen to reduce the time they spend report writing can sign up for just £19 per annum.  Licenses for small schools with up to 100 pupils are priced at £99 + VAT per annum; medium schools with up to 300 students at £199 + VAT per annum, and large schools with unlimited students £299 + VAT per annum.
