EADS Defence & Security has agreed a Europe-wide deal with Erudine to roll-out the Erudine Behaviour Engine (EBE).
The innovative Erudine software significantly reduces the cost and risk associated with legacy system integration and replacement.
Wider deployment will allow future projects to be tackled with less risk of the end product being difficult and costly to change
EBE will be deployed to key EADS Defence and Security (DS) staff, including 70 solution architects, as part of a corporate-wide agreement to maximise the value of EBE as a discriminating technology within DS.
Developed by Erudine, EBE is a software development toolkit which significantly reduces the cost and risk associated with complex system development and legacy system integration and replacement.
Erudine and DS have already collaborated on several major projects, with EBE being used as a distinguishing technology in major critical national infrastructure projects.
EBE enables the capture of both explicit and tacit knowledge from existing business systems and processes. The result is a detailed requirement description integrated with a fully functional and fully tested executable model which can be evolved to meet the emerging business needs.
The unique integration of requirement capture, test cases and executable model eliminates the problem of legacy and enables rapid change to business systems developed using EBE.
Martin Rice, CEO of Erudine, said: "Many view discriminating technologies as a threat to revenue streams, particularly in IT. As an early adopter of innovative technology EADS is already reaping the benefits of EBE's unique capabilities and offering a radical alternative to traditional IT.
"By putting EBE at the heart of its future projects EADS Defence & Security can offer market-leading solutions to the complex IT problems of the modern economy."
Dr Mark Bentall, Chief Technology Officer of Defence and Communications Systems, an integrated business unit within EADS Defence and Security division, said: "EADS Defence & Security has recognised that a new approach is needed to tackle the IT problems of business and Government.
"We regard EBE as a key discriminating technology which has already demonstrated significant value in delivering projects. EBE gives EADS Defence & Security a unique capability to overcome the issues of complex legacy systems and protect against future legacy problems. "
