ServiceSource® is to double its UK presence in the next 12 months. The company today announced the expansion of its sales centre in Liverpool and plans to hire 100 new staff.
“Liverpool is our youngest service centre but it is consistently outperforming other centres and this is primarily due to the well-educated, diverse and highly motivated workforce we have in the region. The energy and dynamism of the Liverpool team is the powering force behind this expansion,” said Martin Moran, SVP and general manager, International, ServiceSource International.
“Despite a recent report released by Jobless Britain that shows Liverpool has the highest proportion of jobless households in the UK with 31 per cent, I strongly believe in Liverpool's future. For us it is the ideal location, a vibrant multi-cultural city that combines state-of-the-art business infrastructure with a talented pool of multi-lingual speakers, which is imperative for our business.”
Mayor of Liverpool Joe Anderson, said: “This is exceptional news. In less than a year ServiceSource has created another 40 new jobs with plans to add another 100, which is a strong reflection of the robustness of Liverpool’s economy and the skill of our workforce.”
Max Steinberg, chief executive of Liverpool Vision, the city’s economic development company, added: “The expansion of ServiceSource in Liverpool demonstrates that the city is in a good position to encourage more high tech investment into the region, positioning ourselves as a centre for innovation within the UK which we will take advantage of when we host the International Festival for Business in 2014.”
The ServiceSource Liverpool sales centre is the company's sixth global sales centre that serves a range of European technology clients including BlueCoat, NetApp, Progress Software and Riverbed Technology amongst others. The office is the key hub for new business in EMEA. Of the 165 employees at the Liverpool office, 70 per cent of the staff is bilingual and 20 different languages are spoken across the office to service clients across the EMEA region.
