Neil Macehiter has 20 years of industry experience. Prior to founding Macehiter Ward-Dutton in February 2005, Neil spent 3 years in consulting and analyst roles at the analyst firm Ovum - where he published a variety of research covering P2P technologies, web services and enterprise architecture. He was also Ovum's research director for software infrastructure.

Neil started his career as an analyst/programmer with CAP Group, which was followed by a number of years working in consulting, pre-sales and strategy roles for a variety of vendors, including Oracle, Sybase, Sun Microsystems and Autonomy.

Neil's areas of expertise include enterprise architecture, service-oriented architecture (SOA), web services, virtualisation and identity management. He has acted as an advisor to leading vendors, including IBM, Oracle, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems; and to large IT user organisations in Government and the private sector. He's a regular industry commentator for both the European IT trade press, and business press. He is also an experienced conference speaker.
